Buckstop Junction, a historic town established and designed by the Missouri Valley Historical Society, stands on a 20 acre site on the Missouri Valley Fairgrounds east of Bismarck Expressway. The reconstructed village contains actual buildings reminiscent of the late 1800s through the early 1930s. The town offers visitors a feel for the atmosphere of the area during the turn of the century. It also contains a mine camp complete with coal mine, gas shovel, scale house and mine building.
